Our story
Pulsarai began in early 2024 when three colleagues from different technical backgrounds—machine learning research, software architecture, and organizational psychology—realized they shared a common frustration. The AI tools being deployed in Malaysian businesses often felt disconnected from the actual problems people were trying to solve. Systems were built for technical elegance rather than human usability, and promised transformations rarely materialized in practice.
We founded Pulsarai to approach AI implementation differently. Rather than starting with the technology and finding problems to apply it to, we begin with the people doing the work and the challenges they face daily. Our process involves weeks of conversation and observation before any code is written, ensuring that the systems we build genuinely serve the people who will use them.
Based in Damansara Heights, we work primarily with Malaysian organizations across research, manufacturing, and professional services sectors. Our team remains deliberately small—currently six people—which allows us to maintain direct involvement in every project and avoid the disconnection that often comes with scale.
What sets us apart is our commitment to transparent communication about capabilities and limitations. We've declined projects where AI wasn't the appropriate solution, and we regularly tell clients when simpler approaches would serve them better. This honesty has built trust and led to referrals from satisfied clients who appreciate not being oversold.
